I am not sure where April disappeared to, but it was over before I knew it. With the end of April, however, came the benefits of all my heard work in the yard, and my gardenias were in full bloom. I can't wait until these bushes get bigger and fill in the space along the edges of the back yard.
The end of the month also found me doing quite a few photo shoots - both family shoots and senior portraits, and even a few Real Estate shoots thrown in there.
One of them was on the banks of the Guadalupe River, and it was such a beautiful and peaceful place! I loved it!
The most exciting thing that happened at the end of April, however, was Lily receiving her mission call to be a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She will be doing a service mission right here in San Antonio, and we are beyond excited for her. She read her call over FaceTime, and we had to include her grandparents, as well as Derek, who was off on his choir trip in Galveston. She will be starting her mission at the beginning of August, when she gets back from Spring Semester at BYUI.
Speaking of Derek being away for his choir trip, because of that, Kevin and I got some extra one on one time with Arthur, and so we decided to make a special date of it. First, we went to HEB to buy all sorts of yummy ice-cream to make milkshakes later on, and while we were there, he won a grand prize using his "Buddy Bucks" - pretty awesome! Then we went to the library where he got to check out bunches of books. And on our way home, we stopped at McDonald's for a Happy Meal for him. Then we ate and watched "Flight of the Navigator," which he ended up loving, even though it freaked him out a bit at first. It was definitely a fun night for our boy.
On Wednesday night, we took advantage of the absolutely perfect weather, and Delaney and I took our Primary Activity Girls on a hike. We went on this beautiful neighborhood path, and I was in love with all the cactus plants that were in bloom. As I admired the flowers, the girls were a little more preoccupied with racing each other down the path. And we may have taken a wrong turn at one point, and so instead of three miles, it wasn't even a mile, but it did end at an awesome playground, which the girls thought was the best. Good times! And definitely a good way to finish off the month.
