As I was busy in our new house, autumn in Pennsylvania was slipping away, and it was killing me. Both the nature lover and photographer in me were dying to get out in all the beauty that was waiting just outside. Because of this, I decided to take a break from all the crazy, and take Arthur on a hike on the Rail Trail.
Arthur was the perfect little hiking buddy. He even brought along his binoculars - although we underestimated the cold, and he needed to borrow my ear warmer. He kept talking about the great adventure we were going on. It was so cute!
The leaves on the trail hadn't quite changed color yet, but the view was amazing, none the less.
I even found some Queen Anne's Lace growing along side the trail. It is so beautiful and delicate.
And as I took pictures, Arthur kept searching for treasure and telling me stories.
The early morning sun on the railroad tracks was beautiful.
I don't know how pretty Arthur thought it was, but he thought it was really fun to walk along it. (And don't worry, it isn't used anymore - it is a local hiking trail.)
We had walked about a mile, and were having a wonderful time, when Arthur tripped on rock and cut up his hands. My poor sweet guy! He was so sad, and so I carried him most of the way back to the car. And so, yes, I didn't get quite as many pictures as I wanted, and Arthur never did find his treasure, but it was still a wonderful break from all the work at home. And I had such a great time with my little guy.
